Luz Guel was born in Sonora, Mexico and migrated to San Luis, Arizona at the age of 5. They are an educator, facilitator, mentor and scientist that works in solidarity with frontline communities to address environmental in-justices. Their work focuses on topics of environmental justice, health, gender, race and liberatory practices. They also facilitate workshops on accountability and anti-racism for environmental health professionals and community partners. Their deep connection to the earth continues to inspire their art through oil painting, poetry, and storytelling. In their spare time, they like to garden, journal, dance, meditate, sing, observe the stars and spend time with their dog (Xerena).
